On the 18th and 19th of October, Efficient Buildings and Renewable Energy MED Communities hosted a two days conference in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The conference count with partners of all Interreg MED Modular Projects from both Thematic Communities and was organized with the support and in the presence of the EU Director General for Energy.
The conference hosted more than 140 participants who worked within the fields of energy efficiency in buildings and renewable energy in local governments, in national authorities, but also politics, businesses, industry and NGOs. Mrs. Lučka K. Bogataj, IPCC Ambassador and Nobel Prize, made an inspiring opening speech.
The conference was divided into two parts. The first day was focused on strengthening our communities through a proactive workshop debating proposals for energy planning & management; energy business models and energy citizens’ awareness. Six interesting training sessions took place during this first day. On the second day, the focus was capitalizing projects’ outcomes paving the road for a powerful policy making; several decision makers were present and shared political news, information and ideas, especially for goals and activities post-2020.
During both days, the atmosphere was a mix of engagement and enthusiasm. Representatives from RES Community Projects had the chance to expose their approaches to relevant stakeholders in efficient energy (see video).
