The ETU initiative training programme

The Interreg MED Renewable Energy community organises a training programme from January to March for island and rural areas to discover the Ecosystemic Transition Unit (ETU) model.

The Ecosystemic Transition Unit (ETU) initiative organises a series of training sessions between January and March dedicated to support municipalities of islands and rural areas in the implementation of energy transition projects on their territories. The ETU training sessions will regard mainly the tools existing in the ETU toolbox, provided by the projects from the Renewable Energy Community of the Interreg MED programme. Some additional sessions will be organised to integrate the training offer and give more tools to the municipalities.

The training sessions will be divided in geographical ares and delivered in five different languages: Spanish, Greek, Slovenian, Croatian and Italian. You can find below the information regarding each regional group agenda, the profile of the trainers, the needed competences to benefit from the training and the eventual data to collect before the sessions in order to have the possibility to test the tools directly during the session.

The ETU is a multilevel governance model developed by the Interreg MED Renewable Energy Community. It works as roadmap for islands, villages, and even cities to join the green energy transition based on social innovation. Rural and island communities are particularly vulnerable to climate change, as many of their livelihoods depend on the environment. Building resilience and promoting renewable energy in these areas requires a particular approach, integrating rural development with the energy transition.
